Inspired by traditional Japanese firing techniques, contemporary RAKU sessions allow for a dynamic experience of contact with the elements. The works are tested by fire, exposed to extreme temperatures, and deprived of oxygen. If we’re lucky, they will return in a new guise.
This is one of the most unpredictable firing processes, undergoing transformations due to changing atmospheric conditions. The results refine the works and lend them completely unique patterns and shades.
